Sure that may mean that they'll want to re-upload your data, which is no fun. I bet what was lost is whatever tells Backblaze that you know THAT PILE OF DATA THERE = THE DATA ON THIS DRIVE HERE. Have you tried to sign in to their site with your credentials and look at the restore area to see if the data is there? My guess is that there's a failure to communicate. U sure they LOST your data? U sure they simply didn't lose the ability to "sync" your data wit the data on your computer? It would NOT make any sense that your data (on their servers) would be deleted by you reinstalling the application. I've tried asking if I can pay the shipping to the UK but apparently not Yeah they still do that, it's US only though. Have a number for them? Can't find anything which isn't labeled as "Not for support" Hmm Crashplan used to have a TB hard drive pre-seed option but I can't find it on their site anymore, maybe email them to see if they still do it. This does not sound like the Backblaze I know. Really pissed, despite having RAID here it just makes me feel very vulnerable and I need to get a solution together quickly. Nope backblaze haven't offered me anything. Their bandwidth sucks though, I have 15Mbit up but can only get about 3 to them, going to take 2 months to upload it all. Yeah currently trying to upload to crashplan.

While I'm still annoyed that they lost my data I do appreciate the CEO stepping up, accepting things went bad and trying to help.īummer. Backblaze has still lost my data however the CEO Gleb has been in touch and they have attempted to make things right. Thanks backblaze for loosing all my data. Apparently the "Silver lining is that I shouldn't have any more slowdowns". So it turns out they were wrong and now there's nothing they can do about it. I was a touch concerned by this (I've got about 3TB of data with them which has taken ages to upload) and double checked that if I did they'd be able to reconnect me to my data. After some to and fro they suggested that I uninstall and reinstall the software. Recently it started to really slow down my computer so I contacted them. So I've been using backblaze for a while for offsite backup.
